Art Club
|
I've been part of art club since my junior year. I've been wanting to be in art club since my freshmen year but apparently they had removed it sometime before I attended LHS. But as soon as I heard it was coming back my junior year I knew to join right away. It was an extremely fun club to be a part of. Mostly because I knew I was surrounded with people that had a similar interest with art that I had. We spent a lot of our time fundraising for our trip to LA at the end of the year. It all worked out as planned and after weeks of organizing it we finally ended up going to the Getty art museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and even to Hollywood Boulevard! It was such an amazing experience that I'll never forget. Not only was I surrounded by many different types of influential art pieces, I got the chance to roam the streets of Hollywood for the first time ever. Some photos I took are shown.

French Club
I have been taking french since my sophomore year and decided to join french club my junior year. Joining French Club was an amazing opportunity. We got to get together and find ways to raise money for our end-of-the-year trip. We usually accomplish this by selling candy but this year we changed things up by selling our very own french club t-shirts. They were quite a success but unfortunately we weren't able to go to a trip at the end of they year as we planned. Although we were able to set up a very fun BBQ for all club members to enjoy. It was a blast being part of the club and if it were still here for my senior year I wouldn't hesitate to join again.

National French Honors Society
Since i started taking French my sophomore year I knew there was no way I could fit in four french courses for my remaining time in LHS. Although, after this year it became possible. During my junior year, I signed up to take french 2. But little did I know I was going to be placed in a french THREE class where I had the opportunity to finish the class I had originally signed up for and french 3, simultaneously. This was an amazing opportunity my teacher gave me. Because of this, I was able to join National French Honors Society which is only available for French 3 or AP French students.

Key Club
I decided to join Key Club my junior year. I've heard of it in my previous years at LHS but never really knew what it was about. Once my friend convinced me to go to one of their first meetings I learned it was all about helping out and being active in the community. It seemed like a fun club and it was a perfect way to get some of my required community service hours done. Ever since I joined, I got to be part of many community events such as school food booths and even the annual Christmas Toy Giveaway. I've never really gotten the chance to help the community in such ways before so they were very interesting experiences.

Yearbook
I've been in yearbook my freshman year and my junior year. In my freshmen year, was selected to be in yearbook because of my good grades in English so I decided to join. At first, I thought it was going to be something simple to be a part of but little did I know it's a lot of work. We have to document the whole school year and make sure we take plenty of photos to capture all major events. People pay a lot of money for yearbooks so we have to make sure to make them the best they can be. Being in yearbook was a very exciting experience. It has made me realize how much goes on in the school and how important it is to capture and documents memorable events so anyone can look back at them.

American Sign Language Club (ASL)
I decided to join ASL my senior year. My friends and I decided to join because it we were curious about it and interested in learning a bit about sign language. It has been an interesting experience being part of this club. I've had the opportunity to learn some bits and pieces of sign language including the alphabet and a couple of signs.

Drama Club
I joined Drama Club my freshman year at LHS. Since it was my first year, I wasn't very sure what clubs I should join or if I should join any clubs at all. I wanted to be wild and adventurous for once so my friends and I decided to join this club. All I can say is that it's not what I thought it was going to be. I thought I would have been a highly active member but ended up being the complete opposite. My friends and I quickly noticed that we hadn't really taken any important roles in the club so we decided to stop attending meetings around second semester of that year. Even if I didn't stay in the club is was still a fun experience.

Artist
Something that takes up a good portion of my free time is my main hobby, drawing. Although, this isn't at all limited to pen and paper. In addition to traditional types of art I have an even greater involvement in digital art since I'm fortunate enough to have the materials necessary for it. I love it more than traditional types of art because I feel working digitally stretches the possibilities of things I can create since the work space is much more flexible. I've been creating digital art for about four, or so, years now but I didn't start taking it seriously until late junior year. I started to really practice and perfect my drawings as much as I could and I still only plan on improving.
If you scrolled this far for some reason just know all of this was bullshit and high school was a terrible experience, don't stay in school kids.
